Questions families ask
Account, invites, Oma’s weblink, and privacy — in one place.
How do I create an account? Apple or Google?
On iPhone, Sign in with Apple is the first path — Face ID or your Apple sheet, then you are in. Hide My Email works. On Android, tap Continue with Google on the sign-in screen, or use email and password on either platform.
I forgot my password. What now?
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password and enter your email. We send a reset link. Open that mail on your phone so Nestory can open and you can choose a new password. If the link opens in a browser first, it should hand off to the app. We never tell anyone whether that email has an account.
How do I invite family into a nest?
In the Nestory app, open Your nest and tap Invite family (or Invite loved ones from an empty nest). Copy or share the link. Each new invite lasts seven days. They can preview photos in the browser first.
Does Oma need to install an app?
No. Share the private album link. She opens it in any browser — no Nestory account, no App Store. Hearts, comments, and the rest of the nest live in the Nestory app. Longer note: Share photos with Grandma — no new app.
What does “Join …'s Nest” do?
The weblink is a preview. That Join button opens the Nestory app so they become a member of that nest — they can add photos (if you invited them that way) and get updates. Continue in browser stays a guest view, with no account.
Where do our photos live?
In your family bubble — not a public feed. Your photos and Shorts are stored privately in Germany (Frankfurt), in albums only your nest can open. Analytics on this website only run after you accept the cookie banner. Read the full picture in our privacy policy.
How does Nestory keep our photos safe?
Only people you invite can see your album — family in the Nestory app, or guests with the private link you share. Those links are not listed on Google or open to the world. Treat the link like a house key: whoever you send it to can open the album. Do not post it in a public chat. Uploads and viewing use secure, encrypted connections. Your files sit in a private vault in the EU, not a public gallery anyone can browse. Nestory does not sell your photos or use them for ads. For legal details, see our privacy policy.
Can I use Nestory in German?
Yes. English and German. In the app, switch language on Your nest (your profile card). On this website, use the language control in the footer.
Is Nestory on iPhone and Android?
Yes — iPhone and Android for parents and members. Grandparents can skip the store and open the private weblink in any browser.
Who can see our photos?
Only the people you invite. Nestory is not a public feed and not Instagram. Members see the nest in the app. Oma opens the private weblink you share.
Can I have more than one nest?
Yes. Baby, travel, a wedding — you can create more than one nest. Invited members and Oma stay free.
How do I export or delete my data?
In the app, Your nest → Contact for Request to export data or Request to delete data — those email us and we handle them by hand. To permanently delete your account, use Your nest → Account → Delete account (two confirmations). To remove one nest for everyone, use Delete this nest under This nest — that is separate from deleting your account.
How do I send feedback?
Email feedback@getnestory.app — the same address as Contact in the app. Ideas, bugs, and snags get a real reply.
